Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information the MedXcribe iPhone app (the “App”) and the website medxcribe.com (the “Website”) collect, and how it is used.
The short version
The App works offline. Your recordings, transcripts and notes are stored only on your device. We do not receive them, we do not have accounts, and we do not use tracking or advertising tools.
Information the App handles
- Recordings, transcripts and notes. Everything you record or dictate is processed by the speech model on your device and saved on your device. It is never uploaded to us. It leaves the phone only when you export or share it yourself.
- Microphone access. The App asks for microphone permission so it can record. You can withdraw this permission at any time in iOS Settings.
- Accounts. The App does not require an account, so we hold no name, email address or password for you.
- Purchases. Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store. Apple processes the payment and gives us no card or bank details. Apple’s handling of your data is described in Apple’s privacy policy.
- Analytics and advertising. The App contains no advertising and no third-party tracking.
Information the Website handles
- The Website is a set of static pages. We do not set cookies and we do not run analytics or advertising scripts.
- Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as the IP address and pages requested, for security and operations.
- Some blog posts embed videos or interactive quizzes from other services (for example YouTube). Those services may set their own cookies when the embedded content loads, under their own privacy policies.
- If you email us, we keep your message so that we can reply.
Your rights and choices
- You control all data in the App. Delete a recording, transcript or note inside the App and it is gone from your device.
- Because we hold no account data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on your behalf. If you have emailed us, you can ask us to delete that correspondence.
- Uninstalling the App removes the data stored by it, subject to any device backups you keep.
Patient information
If you use the App to document care, you are responsible for using it in line with the confidentiality and data-protection rules that apply to you. Keeping everything on the device is designed to make that easier, but device security, backups and exports are under your control.
Children
The App is intended for healthcare professionals and students and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
