Yes. Transcription runs entirely on your iPhone, so it works with no internet connection at all. You only need to be online to download the app and to make a purchase through the App Store.

MedXcribe uses a Whisper speech model that has been fine-tuned on medical audio, so it recognises drug names, diagnoses, procedures and anatomical terms that general dictation tools often get wrong. Clear audio and a good microphone position improve results further. Always review the transcript before using it in a patient record.

SOAP is the standard structure for clinical notes: Subjective, Objective, Assessment and Plan. MedXcribe files what you said under each heading automatically. You can edit the note freely, or just use the plain transcript.

Recordings, transcripts and notes are stored only on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us, there are no accounts and no cloud processing. Data leaves the phone only when you choose to export or share it. See our privacy policy for details.

The app is free to download and your first 25 recordings are free. After that, the Unlimited Transcriptions subscription costs US$7.99 per month (₹799 in India), billed through the Apple App Store and cancellable at any time in your Apple ID settings.

iPhone and iPad running iOS 16 or later, Macs with Apple silicon running macOS 13 or later, and Apple Vision Pro. The app download is large (around 650 MB) because the speech model is stored on the device, which is what makes offline transcription possible.
